Rampant Oxford Cheetahs have one wheel in the semi-finals of the Knockout Cup after another superb performance at a sunny Oxford Stadium yesterday.
They put Plymouth Devils to the sword in this replay with an awesome display that saw Cheetahs win every single heat.
It also wiped away the ill feeling that existed between the sides after Plymouth objected to Oxford's team in the first meeting earlier in the season.
Promoter Allen Trump couldn't contain his excitement - thanking the near 1,000 crowd for their support and then declaring: "Oxford is ready for the Premier League".
Cheetahs were once again led in brilliant style by No 1 Lee Smethills with a no-nonsense paid 18-point maximum, while Danny Betson weighed in with a paid 15 maximum and Jordan Frampton a paid 17.
The pattern of the meeting was set as early as heat five where Cheetahs led 21-9 and there was little respite for the Devils thereafter as the home side tore their rivals apart.
Cheetahs' 32-point lead appears more than enough to see them through in the second leg on September 7.
Oxford: Smethills 17+1, Frampton 16+1, Betson 14+1, Hughes 7+1, Johnson 6+1, Campos 2+1. 61pts.
Plymouth: Brown 8+1, Smith 8, Westacott 5, Hopwood 3, Stephens 1, Webster 1. 29pts.
