Oxford Cheetahs are gearing up for a busy and Bank Holiday weekend with two matches in the space of three days.

They will be hoping to gain the bonus point against Rye House Raiders at Hoddeson tonight, having beaten their Essex opponents 50-43 at Sandy Lane recently.

Victory would consolidate Cheetahs' second place in the table and increase the pressure on leaders Scunthorpe.

It would also provide the team with the ideal boost ahead of Monday's home leg of the Knockout Cup tie replay against Plymouth Devils (3pm).

Cheetahs will be hoping to gain a good lead to defend in the return leg that takes place in Devon on Friday, September 7.

Oxford owner Allen Trump is hoping for a crowd of 1,000-plus for the Bank Holiday meeting in a bid to gauge some measure as to whether to move the team up to the Premier League next year.

He is aware that there are Elite League meetings at Swindon (6pm) and Reading and Coventry (both 7.30pm) and has assured speedway fans that intend to travel to either of them, that there will be no undue delays in completing the meeting at Sandy Lane.
