The Medley stretch of the Thames turned up trumps in latest round of the Oxford Division Drennan Super League which was held over from July due to the floods, writes Andy Webber.

The river about a foot up and carrying a good colour, which seemed to suit bream.

Leading a superb string of weights were three anglers pegged next to each other, al of whom broke the ton.

Pegged next to him was Gary Barclay (Oxford Drennan), who must wish he hadn't started on the stick float.

However, once he realised that bream were willing to feed, a quick change of tactics resulted in 111.10.0 on feeder tactics with either worm or maggot.

Graham Ault (Isis VDE) put 106.10.0 on the scales for third.

o The 18 matchmen who fished Rissington last Sunday in the Carp League 2007 series found the fishing very patchy and some of them really struggled.

The top three had no such problems, however. Fishing caster at 3m, Steve Page was the clear winner with a net of carp weighing in at 177.8.0.

Mark Betteridge used maggot down the edge for a second-placed 154.0.0 of carp, and in third was Andy Bush with 122.12.0 of carp on paste.

Beehive AC fished the second leg of their Beehive Cup at Lower Court where the weather was back to normal, cold and very windy, which made the carp reluctant to feed.

In first place was Dave Simmons, fishing the pellet waggler to the middle for 75.8.0.

Andy Waters weighed in 61.10.0 on pole and pellet at 6m, while Kevin Jeacock had mostly skimmers on the pole and maggot for a third-placed 46.0.0.

The final match in the Kinloch P Woodley Summer League was fished by 19 anglers at Ridgeway, which was quite patchy.

Fishing chopped worm at 16m, Dave Williams had a net of carp weighing 57.15.0 to take first place.

Derek Pumfrey chose to fish on the inside with the chop and ended up with 44.0.0 of carp for second, followed by Fred Harrison with a mixed net of carp and bream on corn for 38.0.0.
