City of Oxford's junior squad were in winning form at their own Royal Regatta and Sprint, which drew crews from across the Thames valley and beyond.

Although, City were depleted due to holiday commitments, those remaining put in an outstanding performance to win the Victor Ludorum prize for the most successful junior club.

They received a set of sculling blades for their efforts.

Setting the standard with the first win of the weekend were Holly Holden and Emma Robinson in the junior women's doubles.

City's next success came with Georgina James taking the spoils in the women's novice singles.

Holden notched up a further win in the junior 15 singles, before teaming up with Robinson, James and Tor Parsons in City's triumphant senior women's quad event for a further victory.

Tim Seers and Richard Steele won in the junior 15 doubles, Steele following this with a further win in the junior 14 singles. Annie Robinson won the women's equivalent.

The hotly-contested Mixed Medley event saw close battles between Reading, Thames, City of Bristol and a CORC composite with visiting Dutch crew Willem III.

After Saturday's racing, Bristol and Reading were jostling for first position.

The sprint eights event on Sunday saw Reading take the prize after successive wins, sealing their prize with a win of two feet over Thames in the eights final.

Falcon RC sculler Emma Wheatley, from Oxford, won the novice women's single event, out-pacing opposition from a strong Reading entry.
