OXFORD City Stars have signed former London Raiders captain Tom Davis.

The experienced forward said he was signing for the English National League South Division 2 club “to win trophies”.

Davis played 362 games for Raiders, scoring 88 goals and providing 156 assists.

The 27-year-old was released from the Romford-based South Division 1 club at the end of the last season after eight years – and Stars’ head coach Kenny Redmond was quick to snap him up.

Redmond said: “Tom is a big strong forward who will add some strength and goals to our forward line.

“He has a great team attitude and his enthusiasm and leadership showed greatly at Raiders, where he was regularly captain or assistant captain.”

Stars open their league campaign at home to Slough Jets on Saturday September 15.

Davis said: “After I got off the phone from Kenny I knew Oxford was a great move for me.

“I was really impressed in how the team did last season and it made me want to be a part of a club like Oxford.”
