TOM Stileman and Will Wilson played major roles as Wasps finished runners-up in the Premiership Rugby 7s.

The Oxford University duo were part of a young side which ultimately lost 33-12 to Saracens in the two-day event at Franklin’s Gardens.

Flanker Wilson, who won the last of his two Blues in the 2017 Varsity Match, played in all five games, scoring one try.

Winger Stileman, still an Oxford student and in line for a fourth Blue in December, made three appearances, but injury ruled him out of the semi-final and showdown with Saracens.

GROVE’S Louise Carr helped England win the European Touch Rugby Championships.

And the 30-year-old, from Wantage, was presented with the players’ award by the rest of her triumphant team.

Carr has also recently been appointed head coach for Grove’s Under 18s girls side.

BLOXHAM School’s Alfie Barbeary has been named in the England squad for the Aon U18 International Series.

They will face France, Wales and South Africa Schools between August 10-18.

WITNEY RFC raised more than £300 for Special Effect in a charity football match against Minster Lovell.

The footballers came out on top, winning 4-2.
