HORSPATH will be aiming to go one better than last year when they take on Oxford Downs in the final of Oxfordshire Cricket’s Bernard Tollett Cup.
The climax of the main Chadlington Brewery T20 competition will be held at Wormsley on Saturday, September 15, starting at 2pm.
The teams qualified by topping their respective groups in this season-long contest.
Horspath, who lost by 17 runs to Banbury in last year’s final, secured first place in their group by beating Aston Rowant in their last game.
But the other section had to be decided on countback, after Downs and Banbury both had the same points – and the game between them was tied.
The west Oxfordshire side went through on net run-rate, although Banbury received three walk-overs, in which they were unable to improve their own rate.
Instead the reigning champions will take on Tiddington in the Wilf Bennett Cup final – between the two group runners-up – on the same day, starting at 11am.
Either side of the main final, Oxfordshire Cricket Board will be holding their Player Pathway Award
presentations.
