Oxford City's Adam Wootton completed a golden month when he won the Nick Faldo Series Under 21 regional qualifier at Walton Heath - to earn himself a lesson from the three-times Open champion.
Wootton, who has already won his club championship and the Berks Bucks & Oxon Colts Championship in the past three weeks, triumphed by five shots over the former Ryder Cup course.
The 21-year-old shot rounds of 70 and 75 to storm away from the field and earn himself a place in the national final at Celtic Manor from October 9-11.
While there he will have a lesson from Faldo, who runs a series of age group compettions for the most promising golfers in the country.
This is the first time Wootton has entered a Faldo Series competition, because previously he found it difficult to get time off work.
But now that he has qualified as a carpenter, he has been given more time by his employers to practise his golf.
Wootton, whose handicap has gone up to plus two, is aiming to turn professional towards the end of next year.
"I'll be trying to get some sponsorship deals together and try and qualify for the Eurprean PGA Tour," said Wootton, who said he would prefer to carve out a career as a golfer than a carpenter.
