Kirtlington's Sandy Bolton held off a strong challenge from Tyrell Hatton, from Harleyford, to win Frilford Heath's Junior Gold Medal, held over the Blue and Red courses.

Bolton, pictured above receiving his trophy from Mike Augar, of main sponsors Buildbase, was the halfway leader with a level-par score of 72 in very difficult windy conditions.

Hatton, who was five shots behind at halfway, drew level with three holes to play, but Bolton held his nerve to win by a shot.

Hatton retains his lead in the Berks Bucks & Oxon Junior Order of Merit, but Bolton will now move into second place.

The nett prize was taken by Frilford Heath's Joe Richardson, on countback from fellow member Dean Newbold.

Other Frilford Heath members Rob Harrhy, Bati Mupasi and George Wood also featured in the prizes.
