FIACRE Kelleher has joined Sky Bet League Two side Macclesfield Town on a season-long loan.
United signed the defender from Celtic on a two-year deal 12 months ago.
But the 22-year-old is yet to make a first-team appearance and spent last season on loan at Vanarama National League club Solihull Moors.
Kelleher had joined up with United’s squad for the first two days of pre-season at Abingdon School earlier this week.
Head coach Karl Robinson said: "With Curtis Nelson, John Mousinho, Charlie Raglan and Rob Dickie in the squad we are well covered in that position, so Fiacre is maybe a little bit unlucky because he did well at Solihull last season and continues to develop all the time.
"It's a good move for all concerned because Macclesfield are a good club, with a good manager, fresh from promotion and hopefully he gets to play regular league football while we continue to monitor his progress."
