DANIEL Burgess claimed outstanding figures of 7-11 in Hanborough’s seven-run win over Wantage.

A thrilling Division 2 clash saw Chris Drinkwater hit 51 as the visitors were all out for 131.

That total did not look enough, but Burgess then took centre stage with a sensational spell to help dismiss Wantage for 124.

Middleton Cheney marched on at the top with a 72-run victory at Tetsworth.

Steve Twynham struck 56 as Cheney set 208-8, but the hero was Steve Wilkes, who claimed 6-15 in Tetsworth’s 136 all out.

Rama Garimella’s haul of 5-40 helped Watlington to a five-wicket win at Stanton Harcourt.

In Division 1, Witney Swifts stayed top with a 27-run victory against visitors Marsh Gibbon.

The leaders were dismissed for 143 as Carl Needham took 3-39.

But Redd Pratley (5-43) and Robert Godwin (4-13) combined to dismiss Marsh for 116.

Wolvercote kept up the pressure as they saw off hosts Wootton & Boars Hill by three wickets.

Barkat Ahmed took 5-31 to help dismiss Wootton for 129, Marc Glover hitting 52.

Mark Child then scored 49 to steer Wolvercote to 130-7.

Stonesfield’s Tom Gubbins took 6-43 as they beat high-flying Oxenford by two wickets.

Oxenford fell to 143 all out as Gubbins shone, and then Ciaran Northwood (33) helped Stonesfield to 144-8.

Yarnton & Cowley edged past Faringdon by three wickets.

The home side were all out for 168, Rob Brown top-scoring with 37.

Mike Hume took 5-50 in Yarnton’s reply, but they reached 170-7 as Abubakar Khan top-scored with 37 not out.

Westcott set visitors East & West Hendred 254-9 in their 45 overs as Mark Strong starred with a fine 69.

Tanveer Hussain, who had earlier scored 34, then claimed 5-37 as Hendred were bowled out for 180.

In Division 3, Bampton’s Edward Landray struck a terrific 136 to help his side to a crushing 153-run win at Brill.

Landray’s knock took Bampton to 296-6, before Brill fell for just 143 in reply.

Adrian Redhead also smashed a century as Dorchester rattled up a mammoth 304-6 in their win at Kidlington.

Conor Graney (61) and Richard Sharman also shone with the bat, while Craig Woods struck 119 not out in Kidlington’s reply, but thanks largely to Steve McComb’s 5-37, they fell for 222.

Freddie Magee claimed 5-29 to help Chadlington to a six-run win at Kilkenny.

The visitors had crawled to 130-6 in their 45 overs, Chris King taking 6-33.

But Magee and Oliver Arnold (3-41) then helped dismiss Kilkenny for 124.

Stuart Armstrong’s fine all-round display helped Marcham to a 47-run win over visitors Broughton & North Newington.

Armstrong smashed an impressive 97 in Marcham’s 233-8 and then claimed 4-36 to help to restrict Broughton to 186-9.

Risinghurst saw off visitors West Ilsley by 36 runs.

Lokeshwar Bandhu (92) and Gaurav Samuel (66) saw Risinghurst to 295-7.

Three players, Wayne Lyford, Ross Wise and Adam Barnes all hit 66 for West Ilsley, but they finished short on 259-4.

Centuries for Mithun Sortur and Glen Willett helped Steventon rack up 301-8 in their 227-run thrashing of hosts Sunningwell in Division 4.

Sortur hit 121 and Willett 100, Adam Duffield taking 5-76.

Phil Armstrong then claimed 6-6 in 3.5 overs as Sunningwell were shot out for 74.

Mike Eeley’s seven-wicket haul and a century for Chris Thompson helped Combe to a 24-run win at Shrivenham.

Thompson scored 104 and Mark Westerby 81 in Combe’s 238-4, before Eeley claimed 7-47 as Shrivenham were bowled out for 214, Charlie Ward top-scoring with 68.

Leaders Hook Norton hammered visitors Deddington by nine wickets.

Having dismissed Deddington for 125, Dan White (69no) and Kieran Scott (53no) led Hooky to 126-1.

Uffington edged past hosts Ducklington by ten runs in a thriller, which saw a terrific all-round display from Peter Jones.

Jones hit 94 as Uffington set 187 all out, George Townsend taking 5-37.

Jones then took 6-69 to help to dismiss Ducklington for 177.

Shiv Bhardwaj claimed 7-21 to help Oxenford 2nd to a crushing 162-run win over East & West Hendred 2nd in Division 5.

After setting 194 all out, Bhardwaj helped dismiss Hendred for just 32.

Leaders Wolvercote 2nd thrashed visitors Tetsworth 2nd by 152 runs to stay clear at the top.

Chris Potter (60), Darren Jones (51), and James van Santen (50) helped Wolvercote to 281-6, and then Nic Pinhol took 4-21 as Tetsworth were dismissed for 129.

Kennington raced to a ten-wicket win at Swinbrook.

Four wickets apiece for Isaac Pullen and Simon Palmer sent Swinbrook crashing to 147 all out, and Kennington made light work of their target, easing to 149-0 thanks to James Crooks (67no) and Graham Rowley (65no).

In Division 6, James Cole took 6-24 as Risinghurst 2nd beat hosts Chesterton by 55 runs.

Bill Bowman had earlier hit 72 in Risinghurst’s 217-8, and then Cole sent Chesterton into a spin, as they were all out for 162.

Four wickets apiece for Heath Cooper and Chris Little saw Chalgrove dismiss Letcombe for just 44 on their way to a five-wicket win.

Witney Swifts 2nd edged out hosts Dorchester 2nd by 11 runs.

Liam Readhead was the star of the show, hitting 88 in Swifts’ 200-9, then claiming 4-43 to help to restrict Dorchester to 186-9.

Mick Wiskin (5-51) and Dave Parker (4-34) led Wootton & Boars Hill to a five-wicket win at Middleton Cheney.

In Division 7 North, Charlbury 3rd’s Alasdair Harley hit 109 and Michael Ray 79 as the visitors racked up 282-4 at Kidlington 3rd.

Jim Astle then took 5-19 to send the hosts falling to 166 all out.

Centuries from Nick Solway (130no) and Pete Smith (117) helped Westcott 2nd rack up 304-6 to set up a 118-run win at Stonesfield 2nd.

In Division 7 South, leaders Faringdon 2nd saw off hosts Kennington 2nd by four wickets.

Chasing Kennington’s 184-8, Alan Johnson (59no) and Dave Johnson (50) combined to see Faringdon home.
