FORMER Oxford United midfielder Michael Collins has been appointed Bradford City’s new head coach.
The 32-year-old takes up his first senior position in management and will face the U’s in Sky Bet League One next season.
Collins, promoted from his role as Bradford’s under 18s boss, becomes the youngest manager in the top four divisions of English football.
He replaces Simon Grayson, who left the Bantams after his short-term deal expired in May.
The former midfielder, who made 43 appearances for United during a two-year stay at the Kassam Stadium between 2014 and 2016, told Bradford City’s website: “I’ve been working towards this for a lot of years now.
“Even when I was playing at Oxford I was coaching locally, and when I was at Leyton Orient I’d be in at Spurs’ training ground as often as I could.”
