FLOODLIGHTS will be set up at Tadmarton Heath to help captain Rob Mottershead’s attempt to play for 24 hours.

The five-handicapper will start at noon on Monday, June 25 and is aiming to complete at least 100 holes by midday on June 26.

More than a quarter are planned to be played during the night, with four fairways, greens and flags to be lit up.

Mottershead has increased his exercise regime and made changes to his diet in preparation and is aiming to raise £15,000 for the Brodey Cancer Centre, founded by two former Tadmarton members, at Banbury’s Horton Hospital.

The 58-year-old from Banbury said: “We thought adding night golf would be something different and thanks to the generosity of Norbar Torque Tools, it isn’t costing us anything to run.

“Norbar is the Brodey family business and when they heard what we were doing they were only too happy to help.”

Donations can be made at his JustGiving page.

The 24-hour challenge finishes 90 minutes before the start of the Captain’s Charity Day team event.
