ELSON Costa completed a remarkable double over Karl Bushell to win two singles titles at the Oxford City Championships.

After trouncing Bushell 3-0 to t the veteran’s crown, Costa brought the event to a rousing climax with a brilliant five-set victory over his Forum teammate in the men’s singles final.

Bushell fought back from 2-1 down to take it into a decider and held match point.

But Costa kept his nerve to win the fifth set 14-12 and lift the Oxford Mail Cup.

The ladies singles competition, which was played on a round-robin basis, went to Christelle Rajapaksa, who won all three of her matches.

Rajapaksa then teamed up with Lewis Waddup to take the mixed doubles crown.

The men’s doubles was one-way traffic for the Forum duo of Bushell and Fraser Harris.

The handicap singles, involving both male and female players, was won by Vicky Coll, playing off plus 24, who defeated Jamie McNeill (+18) 21-15, 21-17.

Guy and Jake East captured the handicap doubles title, beating Paul Mabbutt and David Browne.
