JAMES Henry remains an injury doubt for Oxford United when they host Southend United in Sky Bet League One this afternoon.

The midfielder suffered a back injury in the last seconds of the goalless draw against Oldham Athletic a week ago.

It meant he missed the midweek defeat to Fleetwood Town and while Henry has improved since then, today’s clash may be just too early.

U’s head coach Karl Robinson said: “He’s doing better, but it’s touch-and-go.

“Maybe this weekend might be a bit too soon, but he’ll probably be back before Wigan (on Tuesday).”

United could take a gamble on Joe Rothwell (hamstring), while Robinson has a decision on which combination of strikers to field after the side failed to score in the last two games.

Southend’s only injuries are long-term issues for Rob Kiernan (knee) and Ted Smith (shoulder).

But with the side safe and out of the play-off race, boss Chris Powell has been making changes with an eye on next season.
