OXFORDSHIRE shooter Matt French goes for gold tomorrow in the double trap at the Commonwealth Games.
The 36-year-old, from Oakley, near Aston Rowant, takes to the stand at the Belmont Shooting Centre at midnight BST.
French, who won silver in Glasgow four years ago, will be hoping to qualify for the final, which takes place at 6.45am.
Meanwhile, Upper Heyford's Stefanie Collins helped England reach the semi-finals of the women's basketball earlier today.
The captain scored two points in her side's 62-40 win over Jamaica.
England now face Canada in the last four at 9.30am on Friday, April 13.
Wallingford hockey coach Owain Dolan-Gray's games have come to an end after Wales were beaten 3-2 by England.
The underdogs had led 2-0, but a hat-trick from Sam Ward saw them suffer a third-straight defeat.
Wales finished bottom of Pool B with one point.
