Sam Martin scored his first maximum as Oxford Cheetahs thrashed the Conference League's bottom club Sittingbourne 71-21 at Oxford Stadium last night.

Still smarting and shocked by the one-point defeat at the Crusaders track last Sunday, Oxford exacted revenge in stunning fashion, slamming in seven successive 5-1 victories in the first seven heats.

There was brief respite for the visitors as Jerran Hart and Dean Felton gained second places in heats eight and nine.

But normal service was resumed in heat ten as Danny Betson and Lee Smethills made it eight 5-1 wins on the night.

Heat 11 saw the Crusaders bring in Felton as a tactical ride.

He actually led Martin, but the young Aussie was soon in control with Matt Bates in third as the heat was shared 4-4.

The demolition continued after the break as Martin and Smethills came either side of Felton at the second bend to romp clear.
