KIDLINGTON Green Social Club recorded their 37th straight victory when they won 5-4 at home to Cowley Workers A in an epic ODDA Winter League Premier Section clash.
Sean Holly put the hosts ahead by beating Pete Hall, but Workers levelled when Geordie Grant inflicted a first defeat of the season on Mark Burns.
Kidlington regained the lead as Joe Palmer defeated Terry Wood. But Jon Jukes overcame Dave Fowler to make it 2-2.
The home side took a 4-2 lead thanks to Neil Russell and Simon Tricker, who produced the week’s highest out-shot of 125.
Despite losing the pairs 2-1, Kidlington extended their remarkable unbeaten run.
In Section 1, Prince of Wales gained an exciting 5-4 win away to Kidlington Football Club.
After Steve Baker put the hosts ahead, Prince hit back to lead 2-1 thanks to Mick Kennett and Craig Inness.
Pete Smith, who hit two 180s, and Rob Smith put the football club back in front.
But the Prince levelled at 3-3 through Richard Reveley and and then took the pairs 2-1 to sneak a victory.
Section Threes Chequers Inn A visited Original Swan A and a fine win from Chris Webb gave them a 1-0 the home side hit back to lead 2-1 after wins from Macauley Tarrant and Gary Pinches the visitors lead 3-2 with wins from Andy Webb and Stuart Bell the Swan hit back to level at 3-3 after Craig Tarrants win which included a 180 and a 114 out shot the Chequers won the pairs 2-1 for a narrow 5-4 win
Ladies Notes; Ladies Section Ones Blackbird Bar entertained neighbours Blackbird Leys Bowls Club and the home side got off to a good stsrt when wins from Chris Thompson, Angie Turner and Sue Smith gave them a 3-0 lead the Bowls Club reduced the arrears to 3-2 after wins from Emily Baldwin and Lyn Bayliss the home sides Jayne Godfreys win gave them a 4-2 lead and despite losing the pairs 2-1 the home side ran out 5-4 winners
The Red Lion entertained Cowley Workers A and a fine win from Nicky Merritt gave the visitors a 1-0 lead the home side hit back to lead 3-1 after wins from Tracy Greenwood, Caroline Caldicutt and Kirsty Clarke the Workers fought back to level at 3-3 with wins from Michelle Young and Lisa Wallace the Red Lion won the pairs 3-0 for a well earned 6-3 win.
