OXFORD United expect Wes Thomas to recover from a hamstring injury to be back in training later this week.
There were concerns when Oxford United’s top-scorer (right) missed Saturday’s defeat to Bury.
Losing their ten-goal striker is the last thing the U’s need in an already injury-hit campaign.
But it is not serious enough to make the club's management think twice about recalling Kane Hemmings from his loan at Mansfield Town.
Before his sacking on Monday morning, Pep Clotet said: “Wes needed seven days rest since Tuesday.
“I hope he can be back by the end of next week.”
The situation is similar for Cameron Brannagan (ankle) and Mike Williamson (knee), who may not be risked for tomorrow’s Checkatrade Trophy quarter-final away to Chelsea Under 21s.
