EDDIE Pepperell’s first stop after the World Tour Championship was to officially open Frilford Heath’s performance centre.
The new facilities include a golf simulator and a shop offering custom-fitting equipment.
Pepperell, a member at the club near Abingdon, cut the ribbon along with England Golf’s CEO Nick Pink.
The European Tour golfer, who had just completed his season with the finale in Dubai, was impressed with the development.
He said: “To remain as one of the UK’s leading sports, golf needs to embrace technological advances and bring it into the game.
“The new state-of-the-art Performance Centre here at Frilford Heath does just that.
“We need to make golf an attractive proposition to the next generation of players.
“If we can do that by introducing simulators and custom-fitting technology, to make the sport more accessible then this launch can only be a good thing for the future of golf.”
