ABINGDON United women made it two wins out of two in Division 1 of the Thames Valley League with a 4-0 victory at home to Caversham.
After a shaky start, Abingdon recovered to take the lead through Amy Chivers’s superb 30-yard shot which skimmed off the wet surface.
Later in the first half, Amy Pipe’s free-kick struck the underside of the bar for the Yellows.
Abingdon doubled the lead just after half-time, when Pipe played in Emma Poffley, who scored on her debut.
However, Abingdon had to wait until the 77th minute to make it 3-0 when Nell Boxall’s through ball found Pipe, who slid the ball home
Ten minutes later, Pipe added her second with a solo effort, in which she took on most of Caversham side before finishing brilliantly.
