OYARE Aneju claimed triple jump gold at the England U15/U17 Championships in Bedford.

The Radley newcomer took victory in the under 15 boys’ event, where his effort of 13.31m was not only a personal best, but a club record.

Aneju has also gone top of the UK rankings for his age group and 27th on the all-time list.

Kody Johnson, of Banbury Harriers, threw a best of 43.18m as he finished 12th in the javelin.

Ollie Sprio competed in two under 17 boys’ events, finishing fourth in the 100m and seventh in the 200m.

Banbury’s Charlie Yates battled through a knee injury to come ninth in the long jump, with an effort of 6.17m.

Oxford City’s Ella Turner won bronze in the under 17 girls’ 300m, setting a personal best of 39.76 in the process.

Her clubmate Zoe Pollock missed out on a place in the 80m hurdles final by just four one hundredths of a second.

Radley’s Rachel Burton clinched bronze in the under 1,500m steeplechase, while clubmate Ella Lovibond set a best of 53.02m when finishing seventh in the hammer.

Banbury Harrier Shannon Dawes came eighth in the javelin.

l JADE O'Dowda, of Oxford City, finished sixth and the highest placed under 20 in the senior heptathlon in Woerden, the Netherlands.

She set personal bests in the shot (11.31) and javelin (35.51), finishing with an overall score of 5,070 points.

l ABINGDON'S men won the county gold medal at the Headington 5, with Woodstock Harrier James Bolton claiming the individual title.

l DUNCAN Talbot won gold in the M60 300m hurdles and high jump at the Southern Counties Veteran Championships in Kingston.

l PAUL Fernandez defended his British Trail Running Championship – Ultra Distance title along the Ridgeway National Path.The Abingdon runner set a personal best of 13hrs 39mins – an hour faster than last year.
