A BUMPER crowd is set to watch Oxford United’s first home league game of the season after Portsmouth sold their allocation in a few hours.
All 1,794 seats were snapped up yesterday morning by newly-promoted Pompey, who visit the Kassam Stadium on Saturday, August 12.
More than 9,000 fans watched the corresponding fixture two seasons ago and a similar figure looks on the cards.
The latest figure on United’s season ticket sales is 4,614 – slightly down on last season’s record-breaking figure.
Pep Clotet’s men will also be well backed when they kick-off the Sky Bet League One campaign this Saturday.
Just over 600 supporters have so far secured their seats for the visit to Oldham Athletic, well in excess of the 383 who visited Boundary Park for a midweek game in March.
Tickets are available on the day, but at a higher price.
