THAME United snatched the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division title with a stunning 9-0 victory away to bottom club Henley Town on Saturday.
Thinking that the championship would be decided on goal difference between them and Bracknell Town, Thame went on the rampage to seal promotion to the Evo-Stik Southern League.
Lynton Goss was the star for the visitors with six goals while their other scores came from Ben Connelly, Dan West and Tom Ashworth.
As it turned out, Bracknell lost 2-1 at home to Highworth, so Thame clinched the crown by three points.
Ardley United came from 2-0 and 3-2 down to win 4-3 away to Longlevens in their final game of the season.
Leam Howards scored a hat-trick, while Matt Cruse also netted for Ardley.
