OXFORD United were dumped out of the SSE Women’s FA Cup at the first hurdle as they lost 2-0 at Coventry United in the third round on Sunday.
It is the third year running that the U’s have been defeated in the competition by lower league opposition.
This time they went down to a side placed second in the FA Women’s Premier League North.
The U’s were on level terms for just five minutes before falling behind to an Alison Hall header from a corner.
And their fate was sealed after the break by a Jade Formaston strike.
United start their FA Women’s Super League 2 Spring Series campaign on Sunday (2) against Everton at Abingdon United’s Northcourt Road.

Oxford City start their Oxfordshire Senior Cup campaign at home to Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division title hopefuls Thame United in the quarter-finals.
An unplayable pitch at Hook Norton, second in Hellenic League Division 1 West, has seen them switch their last-eight tie to Southern League Premier Division opponents Banbury United.
