LEAM Howards and Jack Ross fired Ardley United to a 2-0 victory at home to Oxford City Nomads on Saturday.
The hosts were awarded a penalty for handball after four minutes of the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division clash, but Howards’s effort was saved by goalkeeper Christian Lawrence.
After a goalless first half, Ardley opened the scoring on 52 minutes when Howards slotted home after latching on to a long ball over the top of the Nomads defence.
Ross then slid home the second on the hour mark to secure the three points.
Abingdon United enjoyed a 2-0 victory at home to ten-man Letcombe in Division 1 West.
The visitors had Jordan Davies sent off in the first half and the hosts made the most of the man advantage.
Graham Edney and Ryan Wild were on the scoresheet for Abingdon.
