VICTORIA Pendleton’s return to the saddle was put on ice today.
The former Olympic champion, who lives in Moreton, near Thame, was set to partner new horse Vesperal Dream at the Barbury Castle point-to-point in Wiltshire.
But a heavy overnight frost saw a section of the course partially frozen for the early races.
And with Pendleton’s charge set to line up in the opener, she decided to play it safe and withdrew the seven-year-old.
“With it being his first run, I just didn’t want to take any risks,” she said.
