OXFORD City duo Hannah England and Nathan Douglas face an anxious wait to find out if they will compete at this summer’s Olympics.
British Athletics will announce their team for the Games in Rio, which begin on August 5, tomorrow.
Middle-distance runner England has yet to run the standard of 4mins 7secs for the 1,500m and was 0.78 off that time at Kortrijk, in Belgium, at the weekend.
Laura Muie and Laura Weightman have qualified, but with no other British athlete running the required time, the third place could be left unfilled.
Triple jumper Douglas was unable to record the standard of 16.85m at the European Championships last week and his hopes may have been dented by compatriot Julian Reid winning bronze in Amsterdam.
