With just a fortnight to go, Oxford United look like selling 1,000 more season tickets than they did for last season’s campaign.

Following promotion after an exciting season, Michael Appleton’s side start a new era in Sky Bet League One – and fans have been getting right behind them this summer.

The club announced 2,695 season tickets had been purchased by lunchtime yesterday, 900 of which were to new customers.

If sales continue at the current rate, then United will sell more tickets than ever before since they moved to the Kassam Stadium 15 years ago.

Fans, who had a season ticket last season, have to book by July 1 to guarantee their existing seat for the new campaign.

Those looking to change seats can contact the club to arrange a tour to see other viewing points.

Season tickets are proving popular with young fans as well.

So far, 240 under 13s have snapped up the #OX4Life offer which gives them a season ticket plus a home shirt for just £60. Nearly half of those are new to the U’s.

For the first time, United are offering every season ticket holder a special deal in the club shop each month.

Those wishing to buy a season ticket should visit oufctickets.co.uk.

FIXTURES for Oxford United’s League One campaign will be announced next Wednesday morning.
