Former Oxford United goalkeeper Alan Judge is to succeed Mickey Lewis as first-team coach at Abingdon United.

Lewis left the Northcourt Road outfit at the end of the season to take up the position of youth team coach at Oxford United.

Abingdon manager Andy Slater was delighted to capture Judge, who played in goal for Banbury United last season.

He said: "Mickey was always going to be an impossible act to replace, but Judgey is as close as you're going to get.

"He's got all the experience in the world, and knows the local scene inside out."

DIDCOT Town striker Gary Wickens has agreed terms to join Witney United.

Previously skipper at Brackley Town, he has also had spells with Bicester Town and Ardley United.

Witney manager Andy Lyne said: "Gary is quick, strong and particularly useful in the air.

"He also has a good eye for goal and is a real handful of a player who gets in defenders' faces."

Meanwhile, Witney are to host a four-team pre-season tournament at Marriotts Stadium.

Abingdon United, Thame United and Wessex League Division 1 team Tadley will also take part in the Persona Cup over the weekend of August 4-5.

THAME United striker Nathan Jack has been named the Sport Italia Hellenic League's Premier Division player of the season.

Jack, who scored more than 20 goals for Thame last term, received the award following votes cast by all opposing teams through the course of the season.

The award completes a hat-trick for Jack, who also received the players' player and managers' player-of-the-season awards at Thame's presentation evening.

Meanwhile, Thame's groundshare agreement with AFC Wallingford has been extended for another year.
