BRILL were shot out for 23 as they crashed to a 180-run defeat at Faringdon in the OCA's Airey Cup second round on Saturday.

There were no signs of demons in the pitch as Faringdon posted 203-7, Rob Owen top-scoring with 88.

But Brill collapsed in spectactular fashion with Richard Marlow taking 3-1 and Russell King 3-3.

Inam ul-Haq fell just short of a century as Twyford saw off Witney Swifts by 125 runs.

He scored 98 out of Twyford's 225 all out, and then Swifts slumped to 100 all out with Jason Heslington taking 5-40.

Great Horwood went through with a 78-run win over Freeland.

Neil Hogston (76no) and Ian Chapman (59) were the mainstays in Horwood's 233-3.

Freeland then fell to 155 all out, despite 52 from Les Hole and 44 from Sam Symonds.

Hyron Shallow starred with bat and ball as Tetsworth romped to an eight-wicket win at Garsington.

He took 6-34 in Garsington's 94 all out, and then hit an unbeaten 45 as Tetsworth cruised home.

Cliff Dare hit 99 in Hook Norton's 67-run win over Horley.

He took Hooky up to 229-7, before Horley were dismissed for 162, Gary Wilson taking 4-26.

Charlbury notched up their first win of the season, seeing off Westbury by 73 runs.

Rob Garrett hit 78 not out in Charlbury's 231-4, before Marcus Rump claimed 4-27 as Westbury were bowled out for 158.

Matt Launchbury scored his second century of the season to help in-form Marcham to a five-wicket win over mid-table Minster Lovell.

Chasing Minster's 217-7, Marcham were in some difficulty at 63-3, but Launchbury's 121 not out proved the difference between the sides.

Marcham had earlier reduced Minster to 62-4, before a partnership of 102 between Keith Wright (56) and captain Ben Tew (44), plus some lusty blows from Jamie Cross took them up to their final total.

In the Telegraph Cup second round, John Bacon claimed 7-17 as Fringford crushed Combe by 166 runs.

Bacon's superb spell sent Combe spinning to 50 all out after Fringford had posted 216-7, Kevin Hicks making 96.

Russell Jeffries hit a century for West Ilsley as they beat Uffington by 123 runs.

Jeffries scored 101 out of Ilsley's 205-9, then Mike Wallace (5-29) helped to skittle Uffington for 82.

Clifton Hampden's Dave Barber scored 93 in his side's 38-run win over Stonesfield.

Broughton & North Newington defeated Westcott by 129 runs, while there was an 88-run triumph for Northleach Town over Britwell Salome.
