Oxford Saints returned to winning ways when they defeated Kent Exiles 26-0 at a rain-drenched Oxford Rugby Club on Sunday.

In monsoon conditions, Saints gained sweet revenge over a Kent side that put them out of the 2005 title race at the semi-final stage.

They went ahead when RB Chris Taylor took a hand-off and powered over from Kent's four-yard line.

In the second quarter, Oxford's defence gave nothing away. Bryan Myers sprinted into the endzone from 19 yards behind massive blocks from Clive Russell and Andrew Day. Adam Newman added the extra point.

The half ended with Myers going over from a yard out behind the blocking of Stuart Cribbes and Lydon Ward-Best. Newman again added the PAT.

As the rain became torrential, it turned into a mud-fest. Taylor crashed over from one yard out.

In the fourth quarter, Marvin Reyes picked up two interceptions and Stephen Bentley and Andrew Day recovered a fumble each.
