Javelin thrower Danielle Anderson struck gold for Oxford City at the South of England Under 17/15 Championships at Ashford.

Competing an age group up at under 17 on Saturday - rather than the following day's under 15 event - due to football commitments on Sunday, Anderson took victory with a throw of 33.56m.

It was her second successive triumph at the championships, having won the under 15 event at Chelmsford last year with a throw of 32.17m Clubmate Rebecca Hussey won bronze in the under 15 girls' 200m in 26.20secs.

She just missed out on a second medal, finishing fourth in the 100m in 12.55.

Natalie Delahunty finished sixth in the under 17 women's triple jump.

Kirsty Warland, in her first year as an under 17, ran 12.91 in the 80m hurdles, missing out on a place in the final.
