LIAM Sercombe cannot wait to come up against old foes Plymouth Argyle with Oxford United tomorrow.
The midfielder spent eight seasons with home town club Exeter City – the Pilgrims’ Devon rivals.
Sercombe scored at Home Park in a 2-1 derby win two seasons ago and also bagged the only goal when the U’s met Argyle in October.
The 25-year-old has not scored in a dozen games, but is hoping Plymouth bring out the best in him again.
He said: “I do enjoy playing against them.
“Being from Exeter myself I know what it means to them down there.
“It was nice to get the winner at home against them. I’m due a goal, so hopefully it comes against them.
“I will probably get a bad reception, but I don’t mind that.
“I don’t mind that from them, it shows they have already thought about me.
“That will spur me on and if I score I’m sure my celebrations will be aimed back at them.”
And he expects his phone will be red-hot today with Exeter-supporting family and friends wishing him well ahead of the game.
He said: “I’ve had a few tweets and I’m sure I will get a few more.
“A few of my family will be going down for the game.
“It will be a good one for us because it’s second against third.
“I don’t know if it’s them but I seem to have really good games against Plymouth.
“Hopefully that comes again and I top it off with the goal I’m due.”
