ALAN Campbell secured his first victory of the season when he won Littlemore AS’s Keith Mills Cup by a handy margin.
The contest, switched from the Thames to Clattercote Reservoir due to the river conditions, proved tough for the 15 anglers who had to contend with a strong wind.
Campbell had no problems, not only winning the match with a weight of 19lbs 9oz,but also picking up the £204 golden peg. His catch included three bream, a carp and six good roach.
Paul Brant was runner-up with 9.10.0, and John Davis third with 5.12.0.
Bites were elusive for most of the 19 North Oxford AS anglers fishing for the Fair Rosamund Trophy on an extremely coloured Oxford Canal at Yarnton Road, Kidlington.
Of the seven to weigh in, Ian Fisher chose worm to tempt 7.14.0 of mainly skimmers to secure the silverware.
Maurice Winstone had 2.11.0 of perch, while third-placed Steve Wildman netted 2.1.0.
