WYCOMBE Wanderers have sought to clarify confusion created over tickets for their clash with Oxford United next weekend.

All 1,800 away seats were sold, but the Chairboys have in the past sold an additional 300 tickets.

When questioned by a U’s fan on Twitter earlier this week, the club’s official account replied they were unable to “on police advice”.

Thames Valley Police responded to make it clear allocations are decided by clubs.

In an effort to clear up the contradiction, Wycombe have issued a statement, saying: “It was determined that increased costs associated with offering this allocation would exceed the income generated by the additional ticket sales, (so) a decision has therefore been taken not to extend the allocation.”

They also put out a reminder that any U’s fans found in home areas were liable to be ejected.
