North Leigh manager Mark Gee urged his players not to ease off for their trip to Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West basement side Bashley tomorrow.

With no points from 15 league matches and a goal difference of minus 60, few will be backing the hosts to upset the promotion-chasing Millers.

But Gee is wary after a change of management this week at Bashley and an influx of players.

He said: “Given the way their season has gone so far, it’s one we would expect to win.

“But they’re a bit of an unknown at the moment because of all the changes there.

“We’ll be treating the match exactly the same as any other this season and hopefully we can tick the box and move on.”

North Leigh are close to full strength, with Aaron Woodley (knee) the only absentee.

And despite the frustration of having last week’s home fixture against Evesham United postponed due to wet weather, Gee expects his players to soon find their stride “We had two big wins against them last season, so of course we’d like to do that again this time round,” he said.

“I’d like to hope that promotion won’t come down to goal difference, but it wouldn’t do any harm.”

Wantage Town entertain AFC Totton, having brought the match forward from its originally scheduled midweek date after their planned fixture at home to Tiverton Town was postponed due to the visitors’ involvement in the FA Trophy.
