Jon Arzamendi ‘s week got worse when he conceded an own goal as Oxford City were held to a 1-1 draw in their Vanarama National League South match at Sutton United.
Arzamendi, wrongly sent off in City’s 3-1 win at home to Bishops Stortford on Saturday, put through his own net in the 57th minute.
Missing injured striker Bradley Bubb, City had the better of the first half and were denied a penalty when Omari Sterling-James appeared to be fouled.
But they took the lead in the 32nd minute, when Kynan Isaac finished off a move involving Luke Coulson and Sterlng-James.
Isaac went off injured just after half-time, shortly before Sutton equalised.
In trying to clear Tom Bolinarwa’s cross, Arzamendi had the misfortune to put into his own net.
Sutton had the better of the second half and City had to settle for a point.
