FORMER Oxford United chairman Kelvin Thomas is understood to be in talks about taking over Sky Bet League Two side Northampton Town.
The Cobblers, who were last week issued with a winding-up petition by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), are managed by ex-U’s boss Chris Wilder.
Thomas is believed to be part of a small consortium interested in taking control of the troubled club.
