OXFORD City general manager Justin Merritt is wary of their next opponents in the Emirates FA Cup after being handed a tricky tie at Bognor Regis Town in the third qualifying round draw yesterday.
The Ryman League Premier Division side dumped Vanarama National League North opponents Lowestoft Town out of the competition on Saturday with a 2-1 home win.
It is a fate Merritt is hoping to avoid when the two sides meet on October 10.
He said: “It’s one of those games where you’re playing against opposition, who are only just below our level and they’re going to be tough.
“Top sides from the league below are probably capable of playing in our league.
“They’re fourth and going well, so they’re definitely one of those sides.
“We know we’ll have to play our best if we want to make it through to the next round.”
Didcot Town also face lower-league opposition in the form of a home tie against Southern Combination side Eastbourne Town, but joint manager Ian Concannon has warned his side against complacency.
“Any team that gets this far, whether that’s from our league or below, is a good side,” he said.
“If anyone thinks that it’ll be a walk in the park, then they’re sorely mistaken.”
North Leigh will travel to Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division side Chesham United.
