OXFORD United’s players will again show their support for local charity Thinking of Oscar before tomorrow’s game with Portsmouth.
Skipper Jake Wright has taken a keen interest since meeting David and Hannah Cole, who set up the charity after their one-year-old son Oscar died in June last year.
They are more than halfway to their £100,000 target to buy vein-finding technology for Oxford Children’s Hospital.
There will be a bucket collection at the Kassam Stadium, where supporters can also buy Thinking of Oscar wristbands, which the players have worn to promote the cause.
United’s squad will warm up in special t-shirts, which will also be worn by the ball boys and girls.
Wright said: “It’s another chance to raise awareness and raise money for the Children’s Hospital.
“Probably 90 per cent, or maybe even more, of Oxford United fans have known someone who has gone to the John Radcliffe or the Children’s Hospital.
“It’s a brilliant cause and it’s a good way for the club to say thank you to them.”
