HENLEY Hawks beat Welsh champions Pontypridd 27-21 in pre-season.
Lewis Williams’s converted score gave the visitors the lead, but Hawks hit back with a penalty try. James Comben added the extras.
Despite being down to 14 men, Ponty made it 14-7 as Matthew Nuttal touched down.
But Hawks reduced the deficit to 14-12 at the break, with Tom Emery crossing.
A Comben penalty nudged the hosts in front, but Ponty’s Alex Webber dived over.

Hawks clinched victory, thanks to tries from Charlie Davey and Jack Bradford.
