Radley got off to a disappointing start to their track and field campaign as they finished seventh out of eight in their traditional curtain-raiser, the Alpha Beta Trophy meeting at Lee Valley.

With a combination of high-quality opposition and unavailability, Radley struggled to keep pace with the leading pack, although there were some notable exceptions.

In the senior women's competition, Kay Reynolds won the 100m hurdles, clocking 15.29secs, while Rachel Brenton shone with a leap of 5.67m in the long jump.

Tara Kafke also produced a fine performance as she finished second the 100m, clocking 12.53secs.

Louise Brown led the challenge at junior level, recording several personal bests on her club debut.

Brown was fourth in the 75m hurdles, clocking 13.78secs, and also set a best of 1.45m to win the high jump competition.

Emma O'Hara threw 15.88m in the discus and 6.19m in the shot, while there were also personal bests for Jenny Sutherland in the 800m (2.36.53) and Emily Dobson in the long jump (3.97m).
