Abingdon Under 16s completed a successful season by claiming the Challenge Cup during a festival at Portsmouth RFC.
Despite losing their first game to Lichfield, a draw against Darlington, in which flanker James Gaisford dislocated a shoulder, saw them pick up their form.
In the final against Stevenage, a try from Paul Cross after 45 seconds set the tone and Abingdon kept up the pressure with further tries from Ben Greehy and Josh Harwood sealing the trophy.
Abingdon finished runners-up to Chinnor in the Oxfordshire Under 16 league despite beating them 20-12 in the final game of the season.
- New sponsored shirts inspired Bicester Under 12s to victory at the Banbury Festival.
Barry Cavey, of sponsor Blue Water Pools, presented the shirts beforehand.
Their A and B squads then claimed cup and plate victories with wins against Banbury, Buckingham, Chipping Norton, Milton Keynes, Sutton Coldfield and Towcester.
This weekend the players are in action again in the final fixture, defending their county title at Chinnor.
