Witney Roadrunner Phil Hails defied the blistering temperatures as he finished an impressive 114th at Sunday's Flora London Marathon.
With elite and part-time runners dropping like flies, Hails maintained a steady pace to cross the line in 2hrs 38mins 50secs to lead home the west Oxfordshire contingent.
Hails's Witney teammate Jean-Marc Briens was another to break the three hour barrier, clocking 2.58.26.
Oxford City vet 50 runner David Hartwell also dipped underneath three hours as he finished 382nd in 2hrs 50.58.
