North Berks League

Wootton & Dry Sandford Res lifted the Nairne Paul Cup with a crushing 5-1 victory against Lambourn Sports Res at Wallingford.

Underdogs Wootton, who lost 1-0 to Grove Rangers Res seven days earlier in the North Berks League Cup final, scored in the first minute through Danny Cox.

Although Lambourn equalised through Stuart Denton, Wootton took control with Cox completing his hat-trick in the second half.

Josh Nicholls and Martin Clarke (penalty) completed the rout.

In the league, Division 1 leaders Ardington & Lockinge eased to a 2-0 win against Drayton, with goals from Matthew Pedder and Ollie O'Hanlon.

Already relegated East Hendred went in 1-0 ahead at the interval against Coleshill United, but conceded three second-half goals from Chris Maisey, Sean Lewis and Peter Soane to go down 3-1.

Steventon beat Lambourn Sports 3-0, thanks to Paul Churchouse (2) and Danny Parry in their bid for third spot.

Matthew Launchbury scored a spectacular goal to bring hosts Marcham back on level terms against Blewbury, but Ian Carnell scored with ten minutes remaining to make it 2-1 to the visitors.

Robert Pritchard had put Blewbury ahead.

In Division 2, Shrivenham A climbed further away from danger after a 3-2 win at Sutton Courtenay.

Joe Dixon and Ian Dingwall netted for Sutton with Paul Sanders, Danny Da Cova and Chris Hanson replying In Division 3, Crowmarsh Gifford drew 1-1 at home to Didcot Casuals, who took a 1-0 interval lead, before Tom O'Driscoll equalised.

Challow United lost 3-2 to Grove Rangers Res in Division 4.

Grove came from behind to win through Mark Lewis (penalty), Dave Stebbings and Steve Weaven.
