Teenager John Curran was the hero for nine-man Berinsfield as he hit the winning spot-kick in their 5-4 penalty shoot-out win against Haddenham in the final of the Ben Turner Cup at Worcester & Bletchingdon.

Berinsfield had cruised into a 2-0 lead, only for Haddenham to peg them back, before 18-year-old Curran kept his nerve from the spot.

On a bone-hard pitch, Brian Rawlings opened the scoring in the first half, stabbing home from close range.

After the break, Berinsfield doubled their advantage from the spot after Mark Ingram was brought down by the keeper, player-manager Ted Bateman putting away the resultant penalty.

Berinsfield then allowed Haddenham to equalise and had Michael Cullen sent off for a second yellow card in the first period of extra-time.

And they were reduced to nine men in the second half of extra-time when Bateman shown a straight red for a bad challenge.

Late on, Berinsfield could have won it, but Rawlings fired over.

In the penalty shoot-out, Berinsfield keeper, Tommy Lovett, dived to his right to save Haddenham's first effort.

Mark Ingram, Dean Dixon, Ian Marshall and Rawlings all put away their spot-kicks, before Curran kept his cool to send the keeper the wrong way.

In the league, Elliot O'Brien hit a four-timer for Horspath as they beat Premier Division basement boys Charlton.

Craig Marsh and Paul Cooper were among the scorers, while Ritchie Knight and Mark Gonnella were on target for Charlton.

Launton Sports eased to a 3-1 victory at Adderbury Park.

Lee Thomas fired Launton ahead from the spot after Adam Hodgson was fouled by the keeper.

In the second half, Danny Green doubled Launton's advantage, only for Neil Skidmore to reduce the arrears.

However, victory was sealed when Hodgson got a second.

It followed Launton's 1-0 midweek success against Haddenham. Hodgson got the winner in the first half with an overhead kick after the keeper saved his initial effort.

Mathew Philips bagged the equaliser for Eynsham as they drew 1-1 at home to Kennington. Simon Joyce had given Kennington the lead.
