Henley Hawks' director of rugby Jon Lambden says his side's confidence is growing as their promotion charge enters its final phase.

Hawks will be guaranteed National 1 rugby next season if they win their remaining three fixtures and following Saturday's victory at Halifax, Lambden believes the signs are positive.

He told Henley's website: "Our confidence is growing to play the game we want to play.

"We will not sit back for we have to take the game to the opposition.

"The performance against Halifax was a positive one and we kept on target in scoring four tries and securing a bonus point.

"We achieved this from building on a solid penetrative performance against a side who were a challenge in the front five and also defended well.

"I was pleased because we are now developing an all-round attacking game with the forwards combining with the backs and this was shown by the way the two first-half tries were made.

"Our defence was still sound and Halifax's first try of two was a result of a bad decision as their No 8 was driven into the corner flag before touching down."
