Oxford City's Mark Jones missed a penalty as they were forced to settle for a goalless draw at Windor & Eton in a Division 1 South & West game spoiled by the strong wind.

The penalty came ten minutes from the end after Lee Rendell was brought crashing down in the box by the Windsor goalkeeper, who was immediately dismissed.

But Jones saw substitute keeper John Case brilliantly save his spot-kick to deny City the points they deserved.

The bad weather and bumpy pitch meant good football was difficult, but City got to grips with the conditions sooner, enjoying plenty of early possession.

The home side were unable to create any real problems for the City defence, the nearest they came was an overhead kick from a striker that flew over the bar.

For City, Liam Malone was unlucky following good work on the wing and a clever cross from Jones.

In the second half, City had the strong wind at their backs, which restricted any good possession play.

But they were made to rue their missed penalty as the home side battled out the remaining minutes with ten men to frustrate City.

Oxford City: Wilkins, Durrant, Davis, Lane, Cattell, Malone, Jones, Griffin, Stewart (Alleyne 45), Chakoadza, Rendell (Harper 83). Subs not used: Avery, Takriti, Ford.
