Corby Tn 0, Banbury Utd 3

An emphatic victory at Corby last night saw Banbury climb two places to 11th in the British Gas Southern League Premier Division.

The visitors created chances aplenty early on with Stuart Bridges and Jody McKay going close before Jon Gardner put them ahead on 17 minutes.

Andy Baird and Ollie Stanbridge could have increased the lead, but Banbury had to be content with a 1-0 advantage at the break.

Corby's best chance of the night came five minutes into the second half when Andy Gibson fired wide of an open goal.

Banbury showed them how to do it on 58 minutes when Stuart Bridges floated in a free-kick which was headed home by Wayne Blossom at the far post.

George Redknap fired wide after a flowing move, but Banbury wrapped it up with No 3 after 69 minutes, Baird squaring the ball for Stanbridge to score.
